Hongyi Zhang

Hongyi Zhang is a PhD student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, who joined Zhang Group in April 2026. Her research focuses on condensed matter physics and characterization. She uses a combination of resonant X-ray scattering, neutron scattering, and TEM to characterize local chemical order in multicomponent systems and link it to the mechanical properties of complex concentrated alloys. Outside of research, she enjoys building with LEGO and spending time with her bunnies.
